SPL Rear Adjustable Swaybar Endlinks for 2022+ Toyota GR86 Models feature massive PTFE-lined FK 1/2" bearings to provide the highest load capacity for use with stiffer aftermarket sway bars. Many cheaper offerings reduce the bearing size in order to reduce costs and make it easier to produce a short endlink. This cuts the static radial load limit in half, meaning also the pressure on the spherical is much higher, leading to considerably shorter lifespans.Another reason for the larger bearing size is they offer a 22% wider range of articulation, which is vital with such a short overall length. On the sway bar side, custom heat-treated chromoly high-misalignment studs allow for extreme articulation angles (up to 65°) to prevent endlink bind when used with adjustable sway bars.Unlike OEM, SPL endlinks are adjustable, enabling you to eliminate unwanted preload on the sway bars, set the ideal bar angle, and properly corner balance your car. They also replace the OEM rubber mounting with solid aluminum, giving a small increase in rear sway bar rate and quickening it's response. The result is better handling, more sway bar tuning options, and less variation in performance between right-hand and left-hand turns.
The rear endlinks are a small contributor to NVH. Replacing rubber increases the amount of vibration that is transmitted between the LCA and subframe, but all of this vibration is isolated from the cabin by large OEM rubber bushings and transmitted through a heavy mass. The longer distance between the source of the noise and the driver's ears, along with the presence of rear seats further reduces noise. Spherical endlinks can also make the occasional noise over asymmetrical bumps, like driving one wheel at a time over a speed bump or reversing out of a sloped driveway.
