Radium Engineering Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit for 2022+ GR86 Models.
An oil catch can is essential to protect the engine from elevated levels of crankcase blow-by accumulated from aggressive driving. Excess oil-saturated air circulating back into the air intake stream can lead to degraded performance. Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick.
The 20-0902-FL CCV kit mounts on the LH side of the engine bay. This catch can runs inline with the 1/2" breather port. At low loads it experiences atmospheric pressure, but when the engine is at high load (WOT), this hose will experience vacuum and would normally be drawing unwanted crankcase vapors, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the air filter intake pipe. If the engine is turbocharged or supercharged and you are finding oil accumulation stuck in the intercooler, this catch can is a necessity as oil will lower the thermal efficiency properties of the heat exchange process.
Standard FLUID LOCK® Catch Can
In 2022, Radium Engineering implemented a revolutionary design change to the 8 fl-oz Standard Catch Can. An inherent problem always existed with typical catch cans when not serviced regularly. The fluid contaminants will eventually leave the reservoir pouring into the air intake system causing poor engine performance.
To resolve this issue, Radium created the Fluid Lock® Catch Can. This contains a patented mechanism that prevents the reservoir from overfilling and traps the collected fluids until it is emptied.
FEATURES
-Less oil consumption effectively raises octane
-Cleaner air increases engine performance
-Prevents sludge buildup in the intake
-Lowers hydrocarbon emissions
-Capacity: 7 fluid ounces
-Height (without fittings): 5 inches
-Outside Diameter: 2.45 inches
NOTE: Because the Radium Engineering catch cans are pressure sealed, they are great for boosted applications as well. Connecting to the intake manifold is permitted.
Fits:
- 2022+ Toyota GR86
- 2022+ Subaru BRZ
