Icon Stage 1-3 S2 Secondary Shock Upgrade System for 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner models.

The ICON Vehicle Dynamics S2 Secondary Shock System redefines the off-road capability of the 2010-2024 Toyota 4Runner and 2010-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser by allowing for the installation of a secondary shock to an existing ICON coilover setup. The addition of secondary 2.5 Aluminum Series remote reservoir shocks means rougher terrain and larger off-road obstacles can be overcome with confidence as the damping ability of the vehicles suspension is effectively doubled. The included ICON CDC Valve is an externally adjustable valve that restricts oil flow into the reservoir which creates 10 levels of compression damping force ranges. The ICON Omega Bypass shocks feature two bypass tubes, creating multiple damping zones within the shocks, and externally adjustable bypass valves that restricts oil flow through the tubes to provide 28 settings of compression and rebound adjustment, with no tools required. As opposed to overly complicated and expensive long travel kits, the ICON S2 System is an affordable upgrade that drastically increases off-road performance, is easy to install, and has a modular design that allows 4Runner/FJ Cruiser owners to upgrade in steps or all at once.

The S2 Secondary Shock System utilizes the factory lower control arms and maintains OE track width while a combination of a billet aluminum shock tower adapters, fabricated shock hoops, and steel skid plates (with incorporated shock mounts) make for a straightforward install with the exceptional build quality you would expect from an ICON Vehicle Dynamics product. The system was designed to eliminate the need for any major alteration of the vehicles frame or any other factory suspension components, and the components are 100% removable in case the system is to be installed on another vehicle. The modular design of the S2 kit also allows for standalone installation of the skid plates, which provides the added benefit of protecting the factory lower control arms from potential trail damage that can be experienced while off-road.

For piggyback and specific remote reservoir applications, ICON'S unique use of a 6061 billet aluminum manifold a few inches below the top cap of the shock creates an internal Bump Zone that when used creates an additional 20% of damping force. This additional force helps prevent harsh bottom outs and controls the suspension when compressing at high velocity. If you are looking for a more user defined tune, consider looking into the Compression Damping Control Valve (CDCV) or the Omega Series bypass shocks.
  2.
