Located along the transmission's bell housing, the external slave cylinder can fail after years of usage. Over time, the internal seals can dry and wear out, causing the clutch pedal to lose pressure. A failure in the Slave Cylinder can result in an inability to engage the clutch, making gear changes nearly impossible.
